Applying for an Extra Card

You can apply for an Extra Card linked to your Card for your partner or another member of your family aged 18 or above. This is convenient if you want to travel or go shopping separately. An Extra Card can also be useful for children studying abroad.

How the Extra Card works

• The Extra Card is in the name of the Extra Cardholder.
• Especially useful for car rentals, because this is only possible with an ABN AMRO Credit Card in the name of the person renting the car.
• There is a single spending limit for the Main Card and Extra Card combined.
• As the Main Cardholder, you can oversee the payments that are made with your ABN AMRO Credit Cards.
• You will remain responsible for the payment of the outstanding balance as Main Cardholder.
• The annual fee for an Extra Card varies depending on the product.

When will I receive the Extra Card?

What to expect after your application:

1. The Extra Cardholder will receive an email within 48 hours. This email asks them to verify their identity. They can do this safely in the ABN AMRO Creditcard app.
2. In the meantime, we will review your application. If everything is in order, we will let you know that your application has been approved within 10 working days.
3. The Extra Cardholder will then receive an email with instructions to choose a PIN within 8 days. The sooner they choose a PIN, the sooner you will receive their Extra Card.
4. Once the PIN has been chosen, you will receive the Extra Card at your address within a week.

Please note: If the Extra Cardholder does not choose a PIN within 8 days, we will generate one. It cannot be changed after that.

• Do not choose a PIN that is easy to guess
• Do not use a postcode, date of birth or part of a phone number
• Do not use the same PIN as for your debit card
